We realise that making a complaint is not always a comfortable thing to do, and as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, taking action against unfair treatment can feel even harder.
That’s why we’re committed to pursuing fairness for everyone, including LGBTQIA+ people, and ensuring individuals are heard while feeling protected and understood.
Making a complaint is an important way to bring about change. It involves speaking up to say what is happening is wrong – and it should change.
The NSW Ombudsman is committed to ensuring LGBTQIA+ people receive the right services and fair treatment from those we oversight.
If you’ve been treated unfairly or subjected to discrimination, prejudice or inequality, we are here to listen. Your voice is important and speaking up may make a lasting difference for both you and the LGBTQIA+ community.
If you need help to make a complaint, talk to us.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and pay our respects to all Elders past and present, and to the children of today who are the Elders of the future.
