Engage with the community

To raise awareness about our role and services, we run and take part in community events and professional forums across NSW. This also gives us the opportunity to learn about the issues affecting the public and to improve our services.

To find out more about our work with communities, see our Community Engagement Strategy.

Community events

We regularly attend community events to explain our role and services.

We also offer sessions on specific areas of our work. For example:

  • our role in community services
  • our role in correctional services
  • our work with Aboriginal communities.

Our sessions also give people the opportunity to raise questions and concerns about government services, and to understand their rights.

See upcoming workshops and events to see our community engagement events.

Information sessions and events

We offer brief general information sessions for community groups. These sessions focus on the roles and functions of the NSW Ombudsman.

We can also run information sessions on specific areas of our work – such as:

  • the Ombudsman's role in community services
  • your community's right to complain
  • working with Aboriginal communities.
