The JIRT partnership – 20 years on

05 Oct 2018

The NSW Ombudsman tabled a report in Parliament today on his inquiry into the operation of the Joint Investigation Response Team (JIRT), a tri-agency program delivered by the Department of Family and Community Services, the NSW Police Force and NSW Health, which provides a coordinated response to children who are alleged to have suffered sexual abuse, serious physical abuse, or extreme neglect. The program has been operating for just over 20 years.

The report details the inquiry’s findings, and documents the progress made by the three agencies in response to the Ombudsman’s recommendations since they received the report in August 2017.
