Terms and conditions of our community education and training workshops (updated January 2011)
Multiple registrations
If you would like to register more than one participant for the same workshop, you can do so on the one registration form. Please provide the name and email address of each participant in the ‘workshop details’ section of the registration form.
In-house workshop registrations
The workshop registration form must be used to confirm in-house workshops. Please include the agreed fee and date on the form.
Confirmation of registration
You will receive an email acknowledging your request to register for the workshop. Please note that an acknowledgement is not the same as a confirmation.
Once a workshop has the minimum number of participant registrations required, you will receive a confirmation of registration and an invoice for the workshop.
If the workshop has the minimum number of participants at the time of your registration, you will receive confirmation of registration and an invoice.
If you registered online and have not received confirmation or acknowledgement, please contact us on 02 9286 0900.
You will receive a courtesy reminder about your attendance 1-2 weeks before the workshop.
Details of the workshop
Details of the workshop, including location and time, will be provided with the confirmation of registration.
At the workshop, all participants are provided with resources and a certificate of participation.
Payment
An invoice will be issued after the confirmation of your registration, with full payment required prior to the workshop.
Please ensure that the correct payer name is listed on your registration form so that the invoice is addressed correctly.
Details for payment will be on the invoice. We cannot accept payment by credit card. Payment can be made by EFT, cheque, bank draft or money order, payable to the Office of the Ombudsman, or NSW Ombudsman's Office. Please quote the invoice number when making payment.
Receipts for payment are only issued upon request.
Cancellations and transfers
All cancellations, requests for transfers, substitutions or changes to your registration must be made in writing to training@ombo.nsw.gov.au
If you are no longer available to attend the workshop, another representative from your workplace is welcome to attend in your place. Please let us know their name and contact details as soon as possible. Alternatively, we can transfer your registration to another available date, provided we are notified up to 10 working days before the workshop.
Any request to transfer to another workshop, within 10 days of the workshop you registered for, will incur a $44 administrative fee.
A full refund will be provided if you cancel up to 10 working days before the workshop.
Non-attendance
Non-attendance of registered participants who have failed to contact the NSW Ombudsman to arrange for a transfer, substitution or withdrawal up to 10 working days before the workshop will incur the full registration fee.
Full workshops
We will contact you as soon as possible if a workshop is full at the time that you registered and provide you with alternate options.
Rescheduled/moved workshops
Workshop dates and venues sometimes change for unforeseen reasons. We will notify you as soon as possible if a workshop is rescheduled or moved to a new venue.
Cancelled workshops
The NSW Ombudsman reserves the right to cancel a workshop when conditions beyond the NSW Ombudsman’s control prevail. In such circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer you alternatives or refund the registration fee.
Travelling from a distance to your course?
While the NSW Ombudsman does everything to ensure workshops are held as scheduled, occasionally workshops may need to be cancelled at late notice. The NSW Ombudsman is not responsible for travel-related costs that may be incurred as a result of workshop cancellations. Travel bookings must be made with this in mind. We will endeavour to let you know as soon as possible if a workshop is cancelled.
NSW Ombudsman Privacy Policy
Information provided to the NSW Ombudsman will be stored on a database to facilitate provision of training services. If you do not provide all the relevant information, your registration may not be confirmed.
Personal details will be used for communication with you and not for any other purpose. Personal details will not be given to anyone outside the NSW Ombudsman. You can access your information for verification purposes on request. Refer to NSW Ombudsman Privacy Policy for more information.
