    This workshop provides a thorough grounding in negotiation skills and strategies, and participants are provided with ample opportunities to practise these. The workshop focuses on interest-based negotiation. The day is structured around a series of trainer inputs followed by group exercises and discussions. Participants are provided with a framework within which they can plan and successfully carry out negotiations.

    During the workshop we examine:

    • the 'why' and the 'how' of preparing for a negotiation
    • how to consider a negotiation from many angles
    • how to avoid feeling disempowered
    • the importance of the opening statement
    • getting personal needs clear as well as taking into account the other party's needs
    • successful communication in negotiation
    • relationship building
    • rapport building
    • creative thinking
    • closing a negotiation successfully
    • effectively managing unexpected negotiations.
